Understanding Cost Calculations
Bentley OpenUtilities Designer calculates design costs as follows:
Total Design Cost = total Work Location costs = total Feature costs at each work location ( = total unit costs assigned to each feature) + total miscellaneous unit costs of any Macro Units, Compatible Units, Materials, and Custom Costs assigned to each work location
In calculating unit costs, Bentley OpenUtilities Designer applies the following formulas using values appropriate to the assigned unit's life-cycle status:
Life-cycle status | Formulas |
---|---|
Installation: |
(Material Cost Install × Linear Allowance) + (Labor Cost Install × Labor Difficulty Factor) + Equipment Cost Install |
Transfer: |
(Labor Cost Transfer × Labor Difficulty Factor) + Equipment Cost Transfer |
Removal: |
(Labor Cost Remove × Labor Difficulty Factor) + Equipment Cost Remove - Scrap Value* - Salvage Value* *If available (i.e., if a value has been defined for the unit and if the option has been enabled). |
Abandon: |
Labor Cost Abandon × Labor Difficulty Factor + Equipment Cost Abandon |
